Arany Janos was a well-known poet born over two centuries ago (1817-1882). Unfortunately, his original house had fallen into a dilapidated condition, therefore the local authorities attempted to rebuild the house with ethnographical accuracy and thus opened to visitors in 2010. The Fountain located in the garden of the house which existed in the time of the poet often served as a place of inspiration.

Interesting collection of his personal belongings and books can be viewed at the Turnul Ciunt tower in Salonta.
