The Vadu Crişului cave is a truly historical and magical place. Discovered more than 100 years ago by the person often regarded as the “father of turism” in Bihor, Czárán Gyula and his team, this cave is one of the best known tourist attractions in the area. It is an underground palace created by nature with many treasures such as speleothems and its large rooms.

The Vadu Crişului waterfall, right next to the entrance of the Vadu Crişului cave, is the most recent miracle made by nature. The water that emerges from the cave has a 9 m fall after which it flows into the water of the Crişul Repede. A well-defined, but rather steep, path leads to the base of the waterfall, from where we can admire it in all its beauty. Since 1955 the Vadu Crişului cave and the waterfall, with the entire gorge, have been declared a nature reserve.
